The GreatestRedemptive Story Ever
Dear Filmmaker,
Just as you have shared your story with us, please allow us a few brief moments to share with you what we believe is the greatest redemptive story every told.
The story goes: God created us all in His own image. The first person created was Adam, and out of his side, God took a rib and created a woman. He blessed this first couple and gave them all the resources to live a long and happy life. They were free to enjoy all His creation, except the fruit of one specific tree in the Garden of Life. If they disobeyed God in this way, they would be dooming themselves to an endless eternity away from His presence. What did this first couple do? They were tempted by the devil and did exactly what God had commanded them not to do. This meant utter destruction for both this couple and all their descendants - this includes us.
However, it was always God's plan to redeem human beings back to Him - to save them from destruction. On the other hand, because God is holy and perfect, He couldn't allow humans to exist in their fallen and helpless state; they would kill themselves and all His other creations. And so, they had to be punished - they had to die, not only a physical death, but suffer spiritual and eternal sufferings away from His presence.
God needed someone to redeem them from their state of helplessness and crisis, but because humans had disobeyed God, there were a sickness that existed in them, that prevented them from saving themselves. Only a pure creature without any fault would be able to save them from their doom. God looked in both heaven and on earth to find a redeemer, but there was none. Therefore He himself came to the earth in the form of a man, Jesus Christ to live among His creation and eventually receive the punishment that was meant for them. Jesus was no ordinary prophet; after living a perfect life, Jesus was crucified on a cross to redeem humans from their judgment.
However, three days after Jesus died on the cross, He rose again from the dead. Because He paid the price - God's requirement for our sins, we do not have to pay the price ourselves - but we must accept God's way of salvation. Jesus said He is the only way back to God. As a prophet, Jesus had to tell the truth or He would be no prophet at all. However, Jesus is more than a prophet, he is Lord, and he wants to redeem you - rescue you from the penalty of your sins.
